Description

We see shots of the North Hereford and Ludlow Hunts meeting in various locations during the 1953-54 season. The film begins (the only b/w section) with views of the opening meeting which starts at Hampton Court at Hope under Dinmore near Leominster. We see members of the hunt and large crowds of spectators gathering in the grounds of the house and views of the hunt setting off across country. The next section shows the Boxing Day hunt which begins in Leominster town centre and shows riders passing through the centre of the town and gathering outside the Talbot Hotel. We then see a meet that starts from Broadward Hall which is south of Leominster on 23 February 1954 which shows a gathering of riders outside a farm and views of the riders heading off across farm land. We then see a meeting of the Ludlow hounds at Berrington Little Hereford on 13 February 1954. During this section we see a horsebox from F.H. Dale being unloaded and a group of children walking across fields with views of the River Teme. The final section shows the North Hereford hunt meeting at Leighton Court (at Much Cowarne) on 20 February 1954. There are shots of the hunt setting out and racing across fields with foxhounds in chase. We also see a huntsman with a bloody fox carcass.
