Description

The first item is a film report from Tony Francis about the black economy. We see reconstructions of popular fiddles: a barman dips a glass in gin but fills the glass with tonic cheating Francis out of a gin and tonic. We also see a supermarket check-out scam. Francis then talks to 'Len' whose image is disguised. He works as a potter and demonstrates how he cheats the tax man and in an interview boasts about his fraud achievements and claims that most of the country are doing the same thing.

As a follow up in the studio Francis chairs a discussion between Dr Gerald Mars (author of 'Cheats at Work') and Anthony Christopher, General Secretary of the Inland Revenue Staff Federation.

The next item on film is a profile of Bob Woolley, a miner at Hucknall Colliery, who under the stage name of 'Gentleman Bob' works as a male stripper. We see Woolley leaving the pit, at home with his family, travelling to a gig by van and performing his routine at the 'Reflections' social club to a female audience. Woolley provides a commentary about his life and there is an interview with his wife and vox pops with audience members.
