Description

The first letter is a complaint about a Tony Francis news report broadcast on Central News East on 18 October. In his fishing report an angler blamed joggers for the litter problem along the River Trent in Nottingham. A letter from a jogger turns the blame back on the fishermen. A clip from the news report is shown. The next letters call for stronger sentences for people guilty of child cruelty following cases in the news this week. In the studio, Wendy talks to Maxine Moran from Meer in Staffordshire who wants to see more explicit warnings given to children in public information films about the danger posed by strangers. A clip from a recent COI campaign about stranger danger is shown.

We then have a series of letters from adult fans of the 1960s puppet series 'Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons' who are enjoying a repeat run, but think it is shown too early on a Sunday morning. A clip from the series is shown (ITC). The next letters are in praise of television commercials leading into negative letters directed at the latest Central Television promotional campaign 'Central the one to watch'. One viewer doesn't want to know what's on next (that's what the TV Times is for) and another is annoyed by the loud drum beat used in the trail. Extracts from the Central promotion are shown and a still of the promotion’s producer, Jim Stokoe.
