Description

Shots of Jonathan Maxted from Gloucester who has haemophilia and receive the genetically engineered blood clotting agent. We then see Freddie Dodson from Swindon who only received the same treatment from today because his local health authority had previously only paid for the cheaper version. Interview with Fiona Dodson, Freddie's mother, saying it is frustrating and unfair; with Paulette Maxted, Jonathan's mother, saying they worry enough about the children and it's awful if there are other worries as well; with Dr Paul Giangrande, Oxford Haemophilia Centre, saying they support the campaign for abolition of VAT and would like to see genetically engineered Factor 8 available all over the country; and with Colin Brunell, adult haemophiliac from Milton Keynes who has the artificial version due to his religious beliefs. Shot of the Oxford Haemophilia Centre and close up shots of drugs and treatments.
