Description

The official opening of the Giltbrook studio on 1 January 1982 including the opening speeches by Sir Gordon Hobday of Central Television and Sir Brian Young of the IBA.

January 1984 the Central News East production team are seen at work discussing the programme on the new set inside the Lenton Lane studio.

12 October 1983. Exterior and interior views of the Giltbrook studio which was used by Central News East. We see activities in the newsroom, editing and transmission control.

23 September 1983. John Mitchell reports from inside Studio 6 at Lenton Lane. He talks to the controller Peter Pearson and we see views inside the empty studio (the edited news item was broadcast 12 October).

1 November 1983. Central Television roadshow in Old Market Square in Nottingham including reporters Andy Craig, Phil Bayles and Dennis Coath signing autographs.

4 November 1983. John Mitchell goes behind the scenes on Family Fortunes, the first programme to be shot in the new Lenton Lane studio. He talks to presenter Max Bygraves, director David Millard and producer William G. Stewart.
