Shots of Peter Walker at the Pilkingtons glass works and making his opening speech. The new factory only employs twenty-seven people make little inroads to the unemployment in the town. Malcolm talks to Andy Kyle and Ian Rae, who have been out of work since the steelworks closed in 1980. They both worked for thirty five years at the steelworks. Kelvin Glendenning from the council talked about their efforts to attract new firms to the town. Library shot of the steelworks being demolished in 1981 and library shot of the town centre.
