Views of Arkwright Town in Derbyshire including tracking shots past terraced houses and shots of Arkwright Colliery which closed in February being demolished. Further East Midlands collieries are expected to close as the government pushes ahead with plans to increase coal imports to the UK. The government is also expected to privatise the power industry who will also look to use the cheapest coal possible which will be mined with lower standards of welfare and safety. Views of the port at Rotterdam in the Netherlands which is a centre for coal movement.

Interviews with the Labour MP for Mansfield, Alan Meale and the Conservative MP for Sherwood, Andy Stewart about the feared job losses in the local industry.
