Views of Broxtowe housing estate at Aspley showing exterior shots of run down housing. The area has a fifty percent youth unemployment rate and the poorest pre-school provision in Nottinghamshire. Phil Bayles interview with Reverend Roy Catchpole, the local vicar and Gill Gelder who talk about the problems of the estate. View of lesson underway at Player Comprehensive School and interview with headmaster, Frank Sharpe. A development plan for the estate has now been published and a joint Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council project to regenerate the area. Phil Bayles report to camera on the estate and shot of the report held in hand. Views of meeting to launch the project. Phil then talks to Dennis Pettitt, leader of the Nottinghamshire County Council and Betty Higgins, leader of Nottingham City Council about their hopes for the future.
