Over the past year there have been dozens of incidents. In the latest over the weekend 21 year old soldier Matthew Gilmour was shot twice in the legs at the Cherry Tree pub at Calverton. Exterior shots of the pub and an interview with landlord Tony Wyat about how the shooting brings it all home what's happening. Colour still of John Shippam who was shot dead in Bestwood. Library shots of police outside his house. The story also refers to 16-year-old Brendon Lawrence who was shot dead in St Ann's in February last year. Views of a vigil for Brendon and brief interviews with his mother Janice Collins and friend Gloria Collins. 11 year old Ashley Howman was badly injured when he was shot outside his home in the Meadows area of the city. Police believe Ashley was an innocent victim of a drive by shooting. Shots of Ashley in hospital. Also views of Yousaf Hussein who was another victim caught in the crossfire of the growing gun war.
