A ruthless gang have tonight been jailed for 180 years for shooting dead a nightclub doorman and wounding three others. At least four of the six men are said by detectives to be members of the notorious Birmingham outfit - the Johnson Crew.

The men will serve a minimum of thirty years each. They were named in the programme (but not in this insert as): Dean Smith, Michael Christie, Carl Spencer, Leonard Wilkins, Jamal Parchment and William Carter. The jury heard that they had been refused entry to three night-clubs in Birmingham one night in November last year before opening fire on doormen outside the Premonition night-club on Bristol Street killing Ishfaq Ahmen
