Programme presented by Tony Francis. On film Rob Whitehouse interviews the Conservative MP John Butcher about what the Tories are doing to encourage foreign investments into Britain. Particularly looking at the recent visit to Coventry of a group of Japanese investors.
In a film report Debi Davies investigates the controversial plans for black only sections of the Labour Party and visits Ladywood in Birmingham where an unofficial black section is in operation. There have been no black Labour MPs and Davies also looks at the history of black MPs of which the last one left office in 1929. She interviews: Paul Sharma of the National Black Section; Wolverhampton councillor Mel Chevannes; Jeff Rooker, Labour MP for Perry Barr; and Clare Short, Labour MP for Ladywood.
Next on film, Reg Harcourt interviews the Conservative MP for South Derbyshire Edwina Currie about her outspoken views.
Finally on film Jon Lander profiles the Labour MP for Stoke Central, Mark Fisher. Includes shots of Fisher touring a Stoke on Trent pottery. Lander asks Fisher about his background and how an old Etonian (with a Conservative MP father - Nigel Fisher) became a left wing Labour MP.
