We open with views of the village of Credenhill including a thatched cottage, the local church and the hostel that is used by the Polish charity to house elderly war veterans. Len Tingle talks to volunteer Michael Byrne about the centre which looks after 49 veterans. He says that they have each other and to disperse them would break their hearts. Money is in short supply and as the men age their future becomes bleak. Shots of the men working in the garden and sitting inside the hostel eating and watching a Polish video. Interview with a worker for the charity. Views of Polish graves in the local churchyard.
