Views of the Houses of Parliament and shots of secretaries arriving for work. There have been allegations that some secretaries are working very long hours and being asked to carry out extra duties such as collecting laundry and organising private parties. Interview with Janet Picking who is secretary for the Labour MP Jeff Rooker (Perry Barr). She speaks on behalf of all secretaries with the TGWU. She describes horror stories she has been told by fellow secretaries such as one who was threatened by a knife wielding constituent. Jeff Rooker also talks about the role. The next interviewees are Tracy McCulloch and her boss, the Conservative MP for mid-Staffordshire, John Heddle. They talk about the potential perks of the job. Finally, we hear from Peter Snape MP (Labour, West Bromwich East) and his secretary Angela Snape who is also his daughter. They talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the arrangement.
