"Pilgrimage to Dale August 1937". We see a group of people posing for the camera on a visit to Dale Abbey in Derbyshire. "Rev Father Walford leads the procession to the Abbey ruins". A procession in progress followed by scenes of a religious service in the ruined abbey. We then see nearby scenes of a deserted farm yard, cows in a lane, views of the ruins, children climbing a tree 'scrumping' for apples and sliding down a slope. The next section is in Dufaycolor and shows a lake, children jumping into an outdoor swimming pool, flowers in a garden and a caged parrot. "Summer holiday at Scarborough August 1936". After scenes showing rough seas and breaking waves in the Yorkshire resort we see views of the harbour followed by busy scenes in Peasholm Park including a crowded boating lake and a model village. Back on the beach we see adults riding donkeys, an outdoor exercise class and finally a fireworks display. We then cut to scenes in a factory yard. A group of men are seen demolishing a building with picks and hammers (this may be in the film maker's home town of Ilkeston). A filmed sign indicates that we are at "ARP Wardens' Post Q.12". We then see men wearing Air Raid Precaution (ARP) uniforms loading a ladder onto a lorry and standing with a tea urn. We then return to more scenes of the demolition.

The ARP sequence could have been shot from 1937 onwards although a car briefly seen driving past has white painted mudguards which indicates that this is likely to have been during the years of wartime black-out.
