Description

The opening sections are mute and we see the Queen entering Nottingham Council House. Views inside see the royal party with other guests at a banquet shot from a high vantage point. The next section shows the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh on a visit to the Derbyshire police headquarters at Ripley.

We then see the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in Derby on a walkabout in the Market Place with cheering crowds looking on (the new Assembly Rooms are visible behind) (parts of this section has natural sound although much of it is mute). This is followed by more crowd shots from a moving car travelling to Ripley. We then return to Ripley for more shots of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh on their visit to the police building (Butterley Hall) including interior shots. In a field outside she meets large groups of children - including short sections of sound with Bev Smith talking to children in the crowd. We also see the Queen unveiling a plaque (also with various other arrival shots from her visit including scenes from Chesterfield). We then see a brief shot of the Queen inside Mansfield Library.

The reel ends with views of the Queen and Duke waving from Dudley Council House and meeting people on the street (filmed on her West Midlands visit yesterday). This section has sound.
