Garrington's which is part of the GKN group operates two Midlands factories. The item begins with shots of a Humber car driving through Darlaston transporting three former Garringtons workers to a weekly lunch get together for old workers who are members of the firm's Evergreen Club. After shots of the old workers meeting we see inside the Darlaston works where forgings area being made using drop hammers. Next at Garrington's Bromsgrove works we see larger presses in operation before we see their latest equipment, a Swiss made press forge that uses electric power to heat steel bar which is then stamped out into components. There are views of the machine in operation and shots of exterior and interior of the factory (including views taken from a moving gantry crane).
