Currently doctors can prescribe the pills to girls without parental consent but campaigner Victoria Gillick is hoping to stop this practice. Interview with Mrs. Joy Connor from Derby whose daughter nearly died during childbirth after becoming pregnant at 14. Shots of Mrs Connor working on her flower stall in Derby Market and shots of her daughter with a pushchair. Stills of the grand daughter who is now aged two. Mrs Connor thinks that contraceptive pills could prevent some potentially dangerous pregnancies. Allister next visits a special unit in Derby for young mothers and their babies. Interview with Andrea Billing who is in charge of the unit who is concerned that girls are falling pregnant because some doctors will not prescribe the pill. Interview with Doctor Marcus Filshie, a consultant gynaecologist at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, who is in favour of under 16's being given contraception because of the numbers of abortions he is asked to perform.
