Description

We see a group of men setting up hided and laying decoy pigeons to enable them to shoot live birds on a farm at Kempley in Gloucestershire (some shots have been removed). Interview with the farmer George Young about the problems caused by pigeons at harvest time and why he invites marksmen onto his land. Interview with John Farr MP (Conservative, Harborough) about pigeons shooting. Views of clay pigeon shooting which is a growing sport. The Firearms Act of 1968 regulates the system but there remain fears that sporting guns will reach the criminal fraternity. Shots of people looking at guns in a shop. The government is considering tightening the controls. Exterior shot of the Home Office and further interview with John Farr MP about the issues.
