We see examples of vehicles that use components manufactured by the four main firms in the Lucas group: Lucas; CAV; Girling; and Rotex. These include cars on the road, a BOAC operated coach, a row of mopeds, aircraft and ships and a British Rail diesel hydraulic locomotive. We also see the new Boeing 707 aircraft that uses both Lucas and Rotex parts. The next section shows research scientists and materials testing and a draughtsman using a slide rule. We then move onto the firm's servicing including shots of a Hillman Minx being examined, a globe showing worldwide locations of service centres, packing crates in the distribution department and vans leaving the spares centre. The firm's use of modern technology is illustrated with shots of a woman operating a National Elliot 405 computer (electronic brain) including the printer in operation.
