Description

"Millions To Come". The offical opening of Calverton Colliery in Nottinghamshire. Dignitaries including Frederick Leathers, the Secretary of State for the Co-ordination of Transport, Fuel and Power and Hubert Houldsworth, Chairman of the NCB travel to the colliery via a newly constructed railway branch line and tour the new colliery.

"Intercom". A new public address system introduced at Chislet Colliery in Kent.

"New School". A new school built at Kelloe miners village in County Durham.

"Testing Time". A visit to the British Railways locomotive testing station at Rugby where we see a Merchant Navy class loco being run on a rolling road.
