Description

Sue Jay meets: Clarence Fell, an inventor in his eighties who lives at Yeldersley Hall near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. Mr Fell shows Sue his quick laying bricks and fuel saving motoring device. John Worthington from Birmingham talks about his patents and shows Sue a golf ball finding device. Farmer Arthur Hollins from Market Drayton has developed a machine that is easier to use than a convential plough. Finally Sue meets Sir Barnes Wallace the famous inventor of the bouncing bomb. He talks about his development work on the R100 airship and his feelings about the later R101 airship which was taken over by the Government and ended in a fatal crash. He also talks about his work designing the bouncing bomb. Archive stills and footage is used during this section.
