Description

Lincoln Junior Chamber of Commerce Brayford Carnival Saturday May 4 1968. Views of a parade with decorated floats (with the theme 'Lincoln through the Ages'). Shots of a water carnival on Brayford Pool including an Amphicar in the water, a speedboat race and crowds of spectators. Also shots of a torch-light procession and night shots of a fireworks display.

We then see a parade by the Grenadier Guards in Lincoln passing the Cathedral. 'Lincoln City 1967'. Views of traffic in Lincoln city centre, a power station, exterior views of Lincoln Cathedral and shots of factories in the city. Views of a military parade on the High Street and a shot of the Brayford.

Filmed newspaper article about a flypast by a Lancaster bomber in July 1974 followed by views of the plane flying overhead. Another newspaper article about a flypast by Phantom jets and then shots of the planes overhead. Several establishing shots of Lincoln Cathedral.
