The title gives the date of the parade as 2 June 1953. Intertitles are used (listed below):
"The assembly area prior to start". We see dignitaries and members of the Quorn hunt gathering in Victoria Park, an army regiment marching along University Road, and crowds gathering in the rain.
"Parade of Quorn hounds led by huntsman Mr George Barker". Next we see a series of military parades: "Services Group". "Pre-service units". "Fanfare of trumpets 1st Bn. The Royal Leicestershire Regiment". "The ex serviceman's associations".
"The civic and municipal group". We see a convoy of fire engines, ambulances and representatives of the parks department, schools and civil defence organisations for Leicester.
[part 2].
"Youth organisations". "Topical and general group". This includes a number of sporting clubs represented by decorated floats we see fencers, rowers, a speedway team, walking club, swimming association, Sunday school and a group of racing cyclists.
"Historical Group". This is a brief shot of an Elizabeth I themed float.
"Industrial Group". We then see several lorries being used as promotional devices in the parade: they include firms of plumbers, builders, agricultural producers with tractors, electricity and gas organisations, Cascelloid and the co-operative society. Finally we see "Scenes in the dispersal area".
