Opening section shows a 1930s river trip (on board 'Success') travelling along the River Trent towards Hazelford Ferry. During the trip we see a lock being navigated. Intertitle: '1933 works visit by bus to Loughborough College. Please note: This is not a picture of the college entrance'. Caption is followed by shots of men boarding a bus. It looks like they're leaving a pub. Intertitle: '1935 works summer outing to the Wagon and Horses, Bleasby'. We see a bus arriving at the pub in Nottinghamshire. Men stand outside the pub and one plays a banjo. We then see them playing skittles presumably in the pub garden followed by a series of running races and a three legged event where the men try to climb a gate. The final section is in colour and shows another works outing, this time to Stoke Farm alongside the River Trent (late 1930s?). This section again shows running races in a field and three legged and obstacle events as well as a game of football played with a rugby ball.
