The item starts with library shots of the River Avon at Stratford (mute). We then see Peter Green standing in a muddy brook at Naseby in Northamptonshire. He meets Fred Garrett from nearby West Haddon who is an expert an water divining using a yew twig. The pair are seen walking across fields and chatting as they follow Fred's water trail. Eventually Fred's search for liquid takes them to The Fitzgerald Arms in Naseby where they toast to their success in the cellar. The final shot (mute) shows a marker in the grounds of Manor Farm at Naseby which indicates the actual source of the river.
