At Coleford in the Forest of Dean Lionel Hampden interviews Bert Hinton who operates a drift mine for coal with his brothers. We see the men on the surface pushing and emptying coal trucks and Lionel describes the working methods with a piece to camera. Bert Hinton explains that have to have been born in the Forest of Dean and work for a year and a day in the mine to qualify as Free Miners.
